TLC Education Group was started in 2009 by Simon and Manda Barnes. Simon has been in education for the best part of 25 years. Trained as a teacher at Exeter University he went on to work in schools, in the EFL industry and has run various education programmes throughout the world.

Manda is also a qualified teacher and has worked in middle and primary schools for over 25 years in schools in East Anglia. Manda has run a company for dyslexics and has incorporated some of the techniques used to help dyslexics in the TLC programme. She writes as an ‘education agony aunt’ for the online magazine ‘Family Lives’

Both Simon and Manda, as professionals and parents, know the importance of education and building confidence with students. Their aim and the mission of TLC is to maximise each and every students’ potential wherever their starting point may be.

TLC Education Group is unique as it has centres based in private offices and in schools. We currently tutor private students as well as pupils funded by schools. These classes run throughout the day, evenings and weekends. Our online programme is popular with private students, some of whom are home educated, at home and abroad. Schools are using TLC Online to help educate their pupils in school and those who don’t attend school, for whatever reason.

TLC Education Group have been developing their programme for 5 years. They say it will never be completed as it needs to be constantly updated to adjust to the demands of the ever changing exams. Topical events are added daily to the English programme, to help inspire reluctant writers. Excellent work from our pupils is loaded onto the programme. This rewards hard work and also helps to model quality writing to other pupils.

Simon and Manda are striving to ‘make a difference’ and promise to do their best to help every student who comes to TLC Education Group.
